CONSTITUTION
 
   

ARTICLE I

I. 1. Any full-time member of the student body of Washington and Lee University, having missed no more than 2 membership meetings per academic semester, unless absences are excused by full membership, and having paid the yearly membership fee, established in the Bylaws, shall be considered a member in good standing.

I. 2. Any member in good standing shall be eligible to cast a vote in any election of officers and on any question considered at a formal assembly of the Association.

I. 3. Any member in good standing shall have the power to debate any topic discussed in a formal meeting of the Association and shall have the power to request that that question be brought to a vote.

I. 4. Any member in good standing shall have the power to call an informal meeting of the Association to discuss any topic that concerns the club as a whole or the state of minority life on the Washington and Lee University ! ! ! campus.

I. 5. Any member in good standing shall be entitled to participate in all meetings and functions of the Association, and to enjoy the facilities provided on the ground floor of the Chavis House (excepting the kitchen), and to apply for a room in the Chavis House as rooms become available.

I. 6. The membership of the Association shall be required to approve any person chosen to represent this group in any capacity; shall approve the resignations of officers; shall be required to approve any disbursements of funds belonging to the Association; and shall express its approval at a formal meeting of the Association with at least a majority of those present casting an affirmative vote.
